Bhante Rewatha is a Buddhist monk with over twenty years of experience in meditation practice and spiritual counselling. His work is grounded in compassion, mindfulness, and deep respect for the human experience. Drawing from both contemplative traditions and modern psychotherapy, he offers a calm, non-judgmental space where individuals and families can explore their challenges and move toward emotional clarity and balance.
He holds a Master’s degree in Buddhist Studies, which shaped his understanding of suffering, resilience, and inner transformation from a contemplative perspective. He later completed a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto (OISE), where he received formal clinical training in contemporary therapeutic approaches. In addition, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Algonquin College, Ottawa, with a focus on addictions, mental health, trauma-informed care, and family support.
Bhante Rewatha integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a gentle, human-centred approach. His practice honours each person’s story, cultural background, and spiritual or personal values.
He is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported on their path toward healing and wellbeing.
